On 16 July 2009, Disk Theatre hosted a unique concert of the ORGANIC Quartet with several distinguished guests. The first was a special guest from the US, who has worked with Ondřej several times: the excellent tenor saxophonist Joel Frahm from New York. ORGANIC Quartet with Joel Frahm and Miroslav Hloucal played a sextet in the second half, followed by the unique brass big band, the BUCINATORES. The big band arrangements were by Jan Jirucha, who co-authored part of the play list. Most of the compositions are by members of the ORGANIC Quartet. The concert started at 8.30pm, but eager spectators began pouring in early in the evening to fill the Disk Theatre to bursting: people sat on the stairs, boxes in the aisles, the floor; some had to hang around in the corridor. Thanks to such a bursting audience, full of loyal jazz fans, the atmosphere was absolutely marvellous, and the musicians too enjoyed the performance. The audience teased two encores out of them. The entire concert was recorded with 7 video cameras, from which material will be edited for the DVD to be published probably in early 2010.
